The prize pool of the Party Casino’s Inaugural World Blackjack Champs topped $250,000
Tucker Keeling from Oklahoma who is 38-year-old, is the winner of the inaugural $250,000 Party Casino World Blackjack Championship which he won while playing in the Caribbean, on board the PartyPoker Million V.
When Tucker went home his bank account was $113 000 richer. He even astounded reporters when he made known to them that in 2001 he had been told by doctors that he had only between 2 and 5 years left to live. This was after he was diagnosed with a motor neuronal disease.
Tucker said that he had actually beaten the odds in more than one way by beating the disease and then the odds at cards. He said that he had been beating the odds for five years and that he was especially delighted to be able to win because his illness meant that had to quit work some time ago. He said that even when he had reached the last hand he didn't think he was going to win but he hit 20, which turned out to be sufficient. He said that in the semi- finals, he had only won by $25 and that this was after betting all his chips and then catching a BlackJack. He describes it as one hell of a ride.
It was through an online raffle on Partypoker that the champ managed to qualify for the online tournament online.
A Partycasino spokesman described Tucker's story as being inspirational. He said that there could not have been a better winner.
